Our pilots even radio the position of the whales to the boat-based whale watching tours. You can leave the raingear, winter jacket and crowded ships behind! With the ability to spot whales and dolphins in 10 miles radius, CiHeli brings whale watching “ above and beyond the boat” , getting you to the action in just minutes in the comfort and solitude of our climate controlled Robinson-44 Helicopter.
Whether you are a veteran whale watcher or considering your first whale watching adventure, little can match the exhilaration of an encounter with these splendid marine mammals from the air. The Santa Barbara Channel offers year-round whale watching opportunities with majestic Blue Whalesand Humpbacks more prevalent in summer months, transitioning to migratory Gray Whales and Sperm Whales in the fall and winter. Orcas (Killer Whales) are possible any time of year but are infrequent in this area while large Dolphin pod sightings are almost a guarantee!
